The story of Changathikkoottam Charitable Trust began in the most unexpected and beautiful way—through a school reunion.

 

We are the 1986 SSLC batch of Chalavara High School. In 2019, 33 years after we walked out of our school gates as young dreamers, we came together again. Reconnecting after decades was emotional, especially when we realized that five of our dear classmates had already passed on. Their absence made us reflect deeply on the unpredictability of life—and sparked a shared desire to do something meaningful, something lasting.

 

Out of that moment of togetherness, Changathikkoottam Charitable Trust was born.

 

Our name, which means “Circle of Friendship”, reflects exactly who we are—friends bonded by time, strengthened by compassion, and driven by purpose. While we’ve each gone our separate ways in life, we’ve come together for one cause: to support those in our hometown and surrounding communities who are struggling to meet basic needs.

What We Do

Since our formation, we’ve extended a helping hand in many ways, including:

 

• Financial support for medical treatments

• Providing equipment and care for palliative patients

• Monthly aid for dialysis patients

• Supporting orphans and children in need with medication and essentials

• Assisting low-income families with monthly allowances

• Helping families with wedding expenses and urgent needs

In addition to our ongoing support, we responded actively during:

 

• 2018 Kerala Floods – Procuring and distributing daily essentials to affected families

• COVID-19 Pandemic – Providing food kits and relief to families in crisis

Registered and Accountable​

Changathikkoottam Charitable Trust is a registered charitable organization under the Indian Trusts Act. We operate in full compliance with our official registered deed, and we maintain a dedicated bank account for transparency and accountability.

 

We are also PAN registered and follow all financial norms and reporting obligations to ensure every donation is used responsibly and for the intended purpose.

How We Work

Our work is entirely powered by voluntary contributions from our group of friends and their families. We do not have administrative costs or overheads—100% of the funds go directly to the people in need.

 

We identify deserving beneficiaries through local connections and personal referrals, ensuring a timely and genuine impact.
